About a month ago I ate dinner across from a woman who has lost two husbands to base jumping. And yet, as she talked about the sport, her eyes sparkled with life. She lives for the free fall. Now, every time I find myself in a location with a lot of exposure, I can't help but wonder what it would feel like to jump. Not in a morbid way. But out of curiosity for the human spirit. Why is it that the activities that bring us the closest to death are often the ones that make us feel the most alive? Why do our bodies reward risky behavior with a punch of adrenaline? Why is the well beaten path far enough for some, while nothing short of the edge is good enough for others? I don't know the answers. Sliding into the weekend REAL GOOD 💦✨ . Pretty funny story this one! Way before @salty.bawls left his job to come travelling with me I did HEAPS of trips by myself, shooting with my tripod and drone A LOT! . On this particular occasion, Chesh had to go home to work & I had this slide all to myself... But how would I take photos you ask!? DRONE was the only answer. . In the past I had to become quite inventive with shooting & have learnt a lot with drone photography, particularly when it came to shooting solo! . I’m still working on my drone skills here in #Puglia though (trying to learn how to steer more cinematically & do cool panning etc!) & going to spend the rest of the day at the beach ~ what are you up to!? 🏝

There are so many reasons why we love Instagram ❤️ as it’s a great way to connect with other likeminded people especially love to meet in person, to inspire others and also to show this beautiful planet to everyone who’s not as fortunate to have the opportunity to travel all around the globe 🌍. . But on the other hand Instagram can also be tough as suddenly everyone tends to have an opinion about you, about what you do, what you eat, the way you your hair looks, what you said the other day, basically everything. Just floating at the saltiest sea (lake) on earth ✨ 2 tahun yg lalu, pertama kali ngesave salah satu foto yg aku temuin di explore instagram. Nggak nyangka, mimpi untuk menapaki dan floating di tempat ajaib ini terwujud. Ternyataaaa tempatnya tidak ‘semenyangkan’ seperti di foto. Karena dead ini sudah mulai kering, jadi air danaunya mulai menyusut jauuuuh banget. Kita harus turun tebing yg mayan jauh dari tempat parkir. Sangat aku sarankan untuk pake sepatu! Kristal garamnya tajam tajam, mayan sakit kena telapak kaki. Terus karena penasaran, akhirnya aku iseng nyobain setitik air di sini. Cuma setitik air lho ya, rasanya kayak minum air yg dicampur 1 karung garam 🥴 Pulang pulang badan superrrr lengket, berasa gak mandi 1 bulan. Pengalaman yg super weird, tapi worth to try!

Taking in all the views from the rooftop of my @airbnb apartment! This is the the first time In a long time where I have been able to fully settle into the area I am vacationing in and it’s made such a huge difference! I still love waking up early before the city does but I also love sleeping in some mornings and then heading to the markets to buy everything I need to cook for the day! I don’t feel rushed and am able to take my days at my pace which isn’t always the case at least for me. I usually love to see as much as possible and days can get long so this is refreshing! . . The French Riviera so far has been so good to me and I am so grateful I get to take more of it in everyday. Don‘t try this at home! Only in Venice... 😁 When you let me sleep in a hotel with views like this you are tempting me. Besides that there were no pedestrian lanes below anyway as the @palazzettopisani hotel is right on Grand Canal! I could have even performed a backflip from my room, although this place is way too classy for that. Introducing to you, Austin's Tallest Mural: Tau Ceti. 🌈⁠ ⁠ The colorful spectrum was completed in November 2018 by Transylvania-born artist Josef Kristofoletti. ⁠ ⁠ Josef was inspired by sunlight reflecting off of windows onto other buildings. *TIPS FOR TRAVELLING WITH A SIGNIFICANT OTHER*  So you're booed up, love struck, and looking forward to taking your romance on the road. But let’s get real, travelling with your significant other ain't always rainbows and roses, isn't it? Even the most solid of couples can have their foundation shaken by a domestic dispute on the road. So here are my top three tips after travelling with my man to over 70 countries over the last decade. ___ 1. Talk about your visions and expectations for the trip, BEFORE the trip. Nothing worse than realizing your vision of a relaxing vacay lounging on the beach conflicts with the active hiking vacay bae had in mind. 2. Discuss BUDGET before the trip (especially if you aren't married/don't have joint finances). Work out who is paying for what, how much you're willing to spend, etc. You'd be surprised how often money issues stir up conflict. 3. Give each other SPACE- just because you're travelling with each other doesn't mean you should be joined at the hip. Being all up under each other on your baecation is cute... Until it's not. Example: my man despises shopping and markets so I designate time for me to do my own thing while he goes and reads the newspaper or something, lol. ___ Have you ever travelled with a partner? If you told me three years ago when I started this account that I’d be featured in the @washingtonpost and my photo would be on the cover of the Travel Section, I’d have been like no way! ⠀ ⠀ When I first started traveling, I challenged myself to simply “post one original photo each day to inspire others to dream big and take chances”. Summertime in Seattle 💐 I know Pike Place is probably the most touristy you can get in Seattle... but I don’t care, I still love it so much! 😝 My favorite is probably coming here and buying a big bouquet of flowers! They range from $10-$25 depending on how huge you want the bouquet to be, so I usually can’t help but pick some up when I’m here 🙈 Are there any tourist spots you shamelessly still love and visit in your own city? . I’m also excited to announce that the Bumbershoot Music Festival is coming to Seattle on Labor Day Weekend, for anyone who’s still trying to figure out their long weekend plans! It’s an annual international music & arts festival held every Labor Day Weekend at the Seattle Center, & one of the largest festivals in the US! I will be heading back to Bali after summer and I will be hosting an -.Adventure Photography and Social Media development Retreat.- in the start of September! 🤙🏼 this will be a TRAVEL & WORKSHOP retreat and it is going to be nuts! 😍 I’ve teamed up with @mapify to host this one, and they will be helping sort out ALL the logistics, transport, food options, awesome retreat accommodation, everything! Partnering with them has also allowed me to plan everything to the T so that ALL costs except for flights in and out of Bali, will be entirely covered! Future home goals 💙 ↠ We've been thinking about the concept of home a lot lately. When we first left for a year of travel, the idea of a new place every few days, new cities, constantly on the move seemed like the most exciting thing ever. ↠ Now, having spent the better part of almost 4 years travelling full time, we have to admit that the magic has worn off a little. don't get us wrong, we still love travel, and the feeling of arriving in a new city excites us no end. ↠ But the constant motion of packing, repacking, hauling heavy bags onto our backs, and changing beds every 3 days starts to wear a little thin. We miss a routine, having a kitchen we can cook in, being able to wash our clothes and hang them up, and know that the wifi works when we get home from a job. Recently we’ve realised we’re at our best when we have a solid base, which is why we’re so excited to be calling a new city in Europe home soon (more on that soon..!). ↠ What about you guys - do you need a home base, or do you prefer to go where the winds blow? ↠ #ichosetowander #GAdventures @gadventures

COFFEE IS ON ME TODAY! ☕️ . Each evening, for the next month, I’m going to write down 5 specific things that I’m grateful for that day. While it’s only the morning, I started this last night and I’ve got my list down below! . 1. My cup of Cuban coffee I’m about to drink ☕️ . 2. The fact that Scott walks Lady in the mornings since l like to snooze. 😴 . 3. My book club. We are all friends outside of book club, and sometimes our busy lives get in the way of seeing each other, so it’s always nice to come together once a month. 📚 . 4. My dad will be in Iceland with us, and I’m so grateful we finally get to travel with him! We’ve been wanting to organize a trip with each of our parents. Happy the idea is finally taking shape! ✈️ . 5. The book Girl, Stop Apologizing by @msrachelhollis for giving me this idea...so I now will be looking out for and focusing on good things that happen in the day. Make it a night to remember 💫 • Who else has been to Peru?! If so, did you fall in love with the country, the food, the culture and the wonderful people like we did? • If you want an unforgettable adventure then Peru is your place! @peruhop helped us explore every part of this country and it couldn't have been better or easier to get around. On our first day we met our Peru Hop guide called Alex who gave us so much informatoin about his country, where to go, what to see, how to speak latino Spanish and even how to Salsa dance!! Our first stop was here, an incredible oasis in the middle of a desert, Huacachina. We ate traditional food with fellow travellers, shared our stories and then we partied Peruvian style into the night. • We all have that one country that sticks with us forever. What a most awesome four days at @Travel_Con! I didn’t bring a camera and I hardly left the hotel some days, but I did get out to go 50 floors up to the Skywalk Observatory with my @citypass, I went on a very fun tour of the Boston Tea Party Museum with my mom, I hugged on Cheryl Strayed, I spent a lot of quality time with one of my bests @alexinwanderland, I got to catch up with so many my favorite tourism pals and I got to meet so many of YOU. Thank you, thank you, thank you for packing my talk yesterday and sticking around afterward to say hi or ask questions. If you weren’t here in person, you can still get the virtual ticket through today (link in my profile and Stories), which includes all the speakers’ talks, and forget me, you WANT to see Cheryl speak, trust me. I can’t wait to go home and watch all the talks I missed! Boston was a great host to TraveCon, but I’m even more excited for 2020 when TravelCon comes to the South ... @visitneworleans, here we come! Guatemala is blowing our minds 🌋⇻ checkout our own private natural cinema! •••• Ok we were planning to post this photo tomorrow, but to be honest; we were too excited to share this one. Last weekend we climbed the Acatenango volcano in Guatemala. This is the vulcano next to the Fuego vulcano which is still very active. The whole day and night it just sounded as there was a big thunderstorm, but it was ‘just’ the volcano exploding. Stones (still on fire) were flying around, but since we were on a distance it was safe. •••• It took us about 5 hours to climb the Acatenango volcano and an extra 2 to get to the top. During the 2 day hike we slept on top of the Acatenango vulcano in tents. It was so amazing to see the vulcano exploding in the middle of the night, because the lava gets visible. And we also had the best sunrise in the morning from the crater. What an experience!

Rolling hills in the rear-view! 😍🙌🏼⠀ •⠀ Every time we pull out of our driveway and see this view it just takes our breath away! 🏔⠀ •⠀ We originally chose to stay in the town of Beatenberg because, quite frankly, we were priced out of the more known towns in Switzerland ✌🏼 ⠀ •⠀ However, we’re so glad our budget took us out of the tourist hot-spots to experience this place! 🤗⠀ •⠀ Beatenberg has proven to be so charming, super accessible & has given us the BEST front yard views! 😍⠀ •⠀ Not to mention we’ve gotten to know the neighbors on evening strolls and feel like we’re really experiencing local life in Switzerland! We feel like we really stumbled upon a gem here 🇨🇭⠀ •⠀ Have you ever found a hidden gem? 🌻⠀ •⠀ Tips:⠀ - Beatenberg is a 20 min drive from Interlaken 🚘⠀ - even if you don’t stay here, it’s worth a visit.
